UPDATE: Lagos plane crash - LASUTH releases some survivors' names


The management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has released the names of some survivors and dead persons involved in the crashed Associated Airline in Lagos today. 

They are:
1. Agagu  Feyi - Survivor
2. Akintunde Taiwo - Survivor
3. Akintunde Akeem - Survivor
4. Akinsanya Femi - Survivor
5. Unknown male - Survivor
6. Chijioke Duru - Dead
7. Unknown male adult - Dead

Nine persons died this morning in a plane crash in Lagos involving Associated Airlines but six persons  survived the crash.

According to NEMA officials, a coffin was also found in the crash.

The plane was on its way to Akure from Lagos but developed a fault shortly after take off. Daily Trust gathered that the plane crashed close to an aviation fuel tank-farm near the toll gate of the domestic wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

It was gathered that the dead persons and the injured have been moved to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

Breaking News: Plane Crash in Lagos

An Associated Airlines plane has crash-landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, shortly after take-off this morning.

The plane was en route to Akure, Ondo State, when it crashed in the airport’s fuel dump area, according to a news alert by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

So far, there has been no official confirmation of those killed in the incidence but immediately family members of late former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Kokumo Agagu who were taking his corpse for a second lying in state were said  to be on board.

According to eye witnesses, the crash happened at the local wing of the airport, close to the section where JET-A1, plane fuel is stored.

Occupants are being evacuated.
