A Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) known as De Norsemen Kclub, last Saturday, donated some gift items including two deep freezers, beverages and toiletries to the Abuja Childrens Home Karu and City Of David orphanage, Durumi, Abuja.
Presenting the items to the management of the homes, the president of the organisation Fakehinde Olusegun Femi, said the gesture was part of their mandate as a non-political, non-tribal and non-religious organisation. He said the choice of the two orphanages was informed by the love they have for the less privileged in the society and to demonstrate their love and humanitarian service to them.
“These are leaders of tomorrow. We have come to give them hope and make their life more meaningful,” he said.
He frowned at the manner in which children are being abandoned by their parents, adding that all hands must be on deck to checkmate the ugly trend.
While acknowledging the challenges involved in taking care of the children, Femi urged the management of the orphanages not to be deterred from rendering such humanitarian services, assuring of a continuous visits by the body.
Receiving the gifts on behalf of the home, the Matron, Abuja Childrens Home, Karu, Hajia Bililasu Ajagbe, expressed appreciation over the gesture.
She prayed God to reward their generosity, and pledged the judicious use of the items.
